YouTube’s new report reveals useful Gen Z insights

Hating skinny jeans isn’t the only thing uniting Gen Z…

According to YouTube’s Culture and Trends Report, 65% of Gen Z respondents identify as video content creators.

Also, 80% of respondents use YouTube to watch content about the person or thing they’re self-proclaimed fans of.

In other words, Gen Z actively creates and consumes video content.

Our takeaways: Not only does that make them adept at knowing what’s popular and on-trend, it also means they’re more likely to create content that resonates with their peers.

So user-generated content (UGC), particularly video, is probably an effective strategy to take with this group.

Also, if you’re targeting Gen Z, you know they’re active on YouTube, which means it should be easier for you to reach them there. Fingers crossed, anyway.
